Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen break up with Alien Workshop with a handwritten note

Anthony Van Engelen and Jason Dill have both been pro skateboarders on Alien Workshop for more than a decade, but that relationship appears to have ended. The handwritten note above was posted yesterday and it appears to be the end of an era for Dill and AVE on Workshop. The two skaters have a had good run with the company. Van Engelen and Dill had the first and last part, respectively, in the iconic Alien Workshop video Photosynthesis in 2000 and were still holding it down when Mind Field came out in 2009.

Rob Dyrdek purchase Alien Workshop and the rest of DNA Distribution (which also produces Habitat Skateboards) from Burton Snowboards in April 2012. It's unclear whether that move had any effect on Dill and AVE parting ways with the Workshop, but they do thank Dyrdek in their letter. Based in Dayton, Ohio, Alien Workshop has long had a diverse roster of skaters (Dill once referred to the team as divided into two camps, upriver and downriver) and Dill and AVE certainly contributed to that mix.
