Driftwood Horse Sculptures by James Doran-Webb

As part of an ongoing series of animal sculptures, artist James Doran-Webb used driftwood to create life-sized horses out of driftwood. To make the horses look realistic, the artist sorted through a large amount of driftwood to find the pieces that would best help depict the natural form of the animal. An accomplished woodworker, the artist began working with driftwood as a medium in 2005 when he was designing furniture and then began to experiment with making driftwood animal sculptures.
