Giant Hedgehog Sculpture in London

To celebrate legendary wildlife presenter Sir David Attenborough’s new nature documentary series, Natural Curiosities, a giant hedgehog sculpture was placed in London’s Clapham Common last week. For two months, sculptors created the hedgehog using over 2,000 soft wood spikes, and a coconut and fiber mix for the creature’s fur. Standing at seven feet tall, 12 feet long, and 18 feet wide, the hedgehog not only promotes the new show, but also brings attention to the fact that wild hedgehogs are an endangered species in the U.K.
