Interactive Magic Carpets by Miguel Chevalier

Aladdin may have been the first dude to spark our interest in the idea of magic carpets, but French artist Miguel Chevalier went the extra mile to bring them to life in art form. His “Magic Carpets” installation — put together with the sounds of past collaborator Michel Redolfi — adorned the floors of Sacré Coeur church in Casablanca, Morocco earlier this month. The interactive digital/sound set-up featured graphics evolving along with the movements of visitors, which either multiplied, divided, or grew in size and color range. Check out the psychedelic experience in the above gallery.
