Internal Bear Sculptures by Deborah Simon

Artist Deborah Simon creates sculptures of bears, part external and part internal. She makes the bears out of polymer clay, faux fur, linen, embroidery floss, acrylic paint, glass, wire, and foam. Each sculpture shows a part of the bears' internal systems, whether it is their vascular system, their spine and nerves, or their large intestine, like someone has put an X-ray over a certain part of their bodies to see what is going on inside. The bears are all around 22-inches high and are inspired by her interest in evolution.
