Plastic skateboards are over. It’s all about cardboard skateboards now

In his final year at university, London illustrator Dominic Owen created these cardboard skateboards as an homage to the legendary Z-Boys, who revolutionized skating in the 1970s. The minimal graphics revolve around themes (searching for backyard pools, dealing with hassles from the cops) that were central to the members of the Zephyr skate team, which included iconic skaters such as Tony Alva, Stacey Peralta, and Jay Adams. The boards are made to scale and include cardboard trucks, risers, and wheels.
