Digital videos are usually consumed, not surprisingly, through digital devices (computers, iPhones, tablets). But in our current ADHD culture, we are usually distracted by something happening on one of our other devices to fully concentrate on that five-minute video we're supposed to be watching. Now apparently we are at the point where we need to force ourselves to manually crank a video player in order to focus. Or at least that's what the folks at Bioscope want us to believe. With the Bioscope you put digital content onto a memory card and then turn a lever with your hand to watch it. The video speeds up the faster you crank and can also play in reverse. Using analog devices to enhance digital devices seems to be the next big thing. Who knows? The Bioscope could be the next trumpet as iPhone speaker.
