Explaining skateboarding to an outsider is always difficult and rarely effective. That didn't stop JR Cronheim from giving it a shot. In his new video Of Reverie and Invention, he interviews various New York City skaters to try and capture the feel that millions of people get when they push around each day. The end result may not make it any easier for your typical non-skater to understand why skateboarding is so special, but for skaters, it reinforces and enhances what we already know. And even though the project was done in NYC, it applies to skaters around the world.
