Beatles to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys

The night before the 56th Annual Grammys in January 2014, the Recording Academy will be honoring the Beatles with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which celebrates musicians' accomplishments and contributions to the recording industry. Along with the Beatles, other Lifetime Achievement Award recipients will include Kraftwerk, Kris Kristofferson and the Isley Brothers. This may be the last remaining music industry honor that the Beatles have yet to receive since their work has been nominated for 25 Grammy awards and won eight, including Best New Artist in 1965 and the 1968 Album of the Year for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
