10 Shops Every Skater Should Visit

Though they sometimes go unsung, skate shops play one of the most important roles in skateboarding. They’re where we go when we need new boards or gear, but we also turn to them to swap out a bad bearing, meet up before a session, and hang out after one. In many cases, they keep entire scenes alive by organizing demos and contests, and by hooking up promising locals with product.

But not all shops were created equal. Over the past couple of decades, some have grown into veritable destinations and entire brands unto themselves. Their names grace apparel and appear in interviews with pros and thank you sections in video credits. They’re the shops that any skater in the vicinity should make a point of visiting.
