Stephen Colbert to Replace David Letterman as the Host of “The Late Show”

After over two decades as the host of The Late Show, David Letterman recently announced he will be retiring in 2015. Lucky for us, Stephen Colbert will be the new host of The Late Show on CBS, and has signed a five-year contract with the channel. Colbert will continue to host his namesake show, The Colbert Report, on Comedy Central for about eight months until Letterman finalizes when his last broadcasts will be next year. Colbert plans to leave the conservative character he plays on The Colbert Report behind once he takes on his The Late Show hosting duties, so it will be interesting to see how funny he is when he's just being himself.
