It’s no secret that skateboarding is maturing. While professional skateboarders over 25 were once rare, there are now skaters in their 40s who still have their names on boards, and some of those skaters have children who also have, or will soon have, their names on boards, too. Skate legacies, once a novelty, are increasingly commonplace. In the early 2000s, Bones Brigade legend Lance Mountain’s son began to appear in magazines, while Alex Olson, whose father is one-time Santa Cruz rider Steve Olson, also came into his own.
